At this time of the year, the Sun’s transit through Cancer makes you aware of the importance of your home, family and roots. This may inspire a desire to delve into your genealogy or history but realise the more you dig into something the more skeletons likely to pop out the cupboard - interesting!

Although tempted to make a few changes in the hope of enhancing community activities or improving the chances of bringing in funds for local cause, not everyone will go along with the idea; there’s even the danger some may walk out on it altogether. For now, stick with the original plans.

Before you scrap recent money-making ideas and creative efforts, put them safe in a drawer so you can retrieve them when in a better frame of mind. Nothing goes the way you want, plus, you’re sure there are better ways of earning a crust which will all fall into place but only after mid-July.

You’re happy to oblige if someone asks you to do them a favour which takes you out of your way today. By tomorrow it might hit you that you have promised too many things to too many people and you don’t want to let them down. In future the best way to keep your word is not to give it.

If things aren’t moving quickly enough for your liking, resist the temptation to pull a few strings behind the scenes. Leave a hairy situation to sort itself out in its own good time, as any interference from you might only push things back even further. You know what others’ egos are like.

Problems you have with a partner will be sorted if you stand back and pause, to enable you both to decide what’s good for you. You need more space and independence and there are ways of achieving this without tears but you need time. So no matter how trying it becomes, be patient and you will overcome.

There’s enough to keep you occupied today to keep your thoughts from wandering, but a quiet Sunday could give you too much time to think; you won’t know where you are, what you want or who you are. It’s not the best of times to make decisions so keep the mood light and the company pleasant.

You just can’t seem to get a move on at the moment when for every step forward there are three back. But instead of trying to fight it, accept it’s going to be an uphill struggle whilst Mercury continues to travel backwards in the heavens. Just double-check everything you do for inaccuracies.

If offered an item for the home or garden at a knock-down price, don’t be too quick to hand over the readies. Goods could be damaged, stolen or useless. Likewise check anything antique or second-hand carefully: if you spot a flaw you could live with, barter and get an even better bargain.

If you feel a relationship saps your mental and emotional energies there are ways to improve the situation, but things could get worse before they get better. Once feelings are out in the open they have to be digested and accepted and only then can something constructive emerge from it.

Inspiration could urge you start on a home-improvement or work-related project even though it means you fall deeper in debt. Plus restrictions due to injury or the flare-up of an old allergy may put you out of commission altogether. Ever thought you’re being told something? C’est la vie.

People hang on to your every word but don’t get carried away. Those same folk who can’t get enough of you today may seem distant or even downright rude tomorrow. What has changed their tune you may never know, but if you’re offended by their behaviour cross them off your social list forever.
